June 2, 2024 | God's Daily Reflection | Qur'an Luqman 31:1-12

by Asherah Alexandria Tsarine

I was initially mistaken about the Qur'an, having based my opinions on hearsay rather than personal study. Once I allowed God to guide me through its verses, I found profound insights that resonate with today's world. It became evident that the Prophet Muhammad experienced a Spiritual Awakening and discerned with God, much like Jesus Christ and Jewish leaders did. This realization highlights that God indeed selects individuals for deep spiritual experiences, resulting in significant contributions like books, ministries, and prophecies. The gratitude from such discernment is immense, and I hope others can experience this divine revelation.

I firmly believe that receiving the Holy Spirit and establishing communication with God grants believers wisdom. This wisdom enables them to discern truth and measure the authenticity of others' beliefs. Through this divine connection, believers can navigate their spiritual journeys with clarity and faith.

In the name of God, the Lord of Mercy, the Giver of Mercy ~

1. Alif Lam Mim

  1. These are verses of the wise Book,
  2. A guide and a mercy for the doers of good,
  3. Who establish prayer and give zakah, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith].
  4. Those are on [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.
  5. And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.
  6. And when Our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.
  7. Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure.
  8. Wherein they abide eternally; [it is] the promise of Allah [which is] truth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
  9. He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We sent down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind.
  10. This is the creation of Allah. So show Me what those other than Him have created. Rather, the wrongdoers are in clear error.
  11. And We had certainly given Luqman wisdom [and said], "Be grateful to Allah." And whoever is grateful is grateful for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever denies [His favor] - then indeed, Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy.

These verses emphasize the importance of following divine guidance, reflecting on God's creation, and being grateful for the wisdom granted by God. They contrast the outcomes of the righteous and the misguided, encouraging believers to adhere to the path of righteousness.

For those not familiar with the Qur'an and its' history:

The Qur'an is believed to have been revealed to the Prophet Muhammad over a period of approximately 23 years, beginning in 610 CE and concluding in 632 CE. This timeline spans from when Muhammad was 40 years old until his death at the age of 63. The revelations were documented by his followers and compiled into the Qur'an after his death.

The process of revelation and compilation is central to Islamic tradition. Initially, the revelations were memorized and written down on various materials by Muhammad’s companions. After his death, these writings were collected and compiled into a single book under the third Caliph, Uthman ibn Affan, around 650 CE to ensure consistency and preservation.
