How Do We Clear Our Chakras?

Note:  I had to discern with the Holy Spirit concerning this topic.  Do Chakras have anything to do with our Spiritual Body and the answer is a resounding Yes!

Clearing your chakras involves a combination of physical, mental, and spiritual practices designed to balance and unblock the energy centers in your body. Before we begin, let's explore the 7 different chakras, their associated location, color, element, attributes and symptoms: 

 

Root Chakra (Muladhara)

  • Location: Base of the spine
  • Color: Red
  • Element: Earth
  • Attributes: Grounding, stability, physical identity, survival
  • Imbalance Symptoms: Insecurity, fear, instability, physical ailments in lower body

Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana)

  • Location: Lower abdomen, about two inches below the navel
  • Color: Orange
  • Element: Water
  • Attributes: Creativity, sexuality, emotional balance, pleasure
  • Imbalance Symptoms: Emotional instability, sexual dysfunction, lack of creativity

Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)

  • Location: Upper abdomen, in the stomach area
  • Color: Yellow
  • Element: Fire
  • Attributes: Personal power, self-esteem, confidence, willpower
  • Imbalance Symptoms: Low self-esteem, lack of control, digestive issues

Heart Chakra (Anahata)

  • Location: Center of the chest
  • Color: Green
  • Element: Air
  • Attributes: Love, compassion, forgiveness, relationships
  • Imbalance Symptoms: Emotional detachment, lack of empathy, heart problems

Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)

  • Location: Throat
  • Color: Blue
  • Element: Ether
  • Attributes: Communication, self-expression, truth
  • Imbalance Symptoms: Difficulty expressing oneself, sore throat, thyroid issues

Third Eye Chakra (Ajna)

  • Location: Forehead, between the eyes
  • Color: Indigo
  • Element: Light
  • Attributes: Intuition, insight, wisdom, perception
  • Imbalance Symptoms: Lack of intuition, headaches, vision problems

Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)

  • Location: Top of the head
  • Color: Violet or white
  • Element: Thought
  • Attributes: Spiritual connection, enlightenment, higher consciousness
  • Imbalance Symptoms: Spiritual disconnection, lack of purpose, cognitive issues

 

 

Here are several methods to help clear your chakras:

1. Meditation and Visualization

  • Meditation: Regular meditation can help calm the mind and balance the chakras. Focus on each chakra from the base of your spine to the crown of your head, visualizing each one glowing brightly.
  • Visualization: Imagine a spinning wheel of light at each chakra point. Visualize the light growing brighter and spinning smoothly, clearing any blockages.

2. Breathing Exercises (Pranayama)

  • Deep Breathing: Practice deep breathing exercises to enhance the flow of energy. Inhale deeply through the nose, allowing the breath to fill your abdomen, and exhale slowly through the mouth.
  • Alternate Nostril Breathing: This technique balances the left and right sides of the body, promoting overall energy flow.

3. Yoga and Physical Exercise

  • Yoga: Specific yoga poses can help open and balance each chakra. For example, the Tree Pose (Vrksasana) for the root chakra, the Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana) for the heart chakra, and the Headstand (Sirsasana) for the crown chakra.
  • Exercise: Regular physical activity, such as walking, running, or dancing, can help maintain energy flow and reduce blockages.

4. Sound Healing

  • Chanting and Mantras: Each chakra is associated with a specific sound or mantra. Chanting these sounds can help clear and balance the chakras. For example, "LAM" for the root chakra, "VAM" for the sacral chakra, and "OM" for the third eye chakra.
  • Sound Therapy: Listening to or playing specific frequencies and tones, such as those from singing bowls, tuning forks, or binaural beats, can help harmonize the chakras.

5. Aromatherapy

  • Essential Oils: Using essential oils can aid in chakra balancing. For example, sandalwood for the root chakra, jasmine for the sacral chakra, and lavender for the third eye chakra. You can diffuse the oils, apply them to your skin (diluted with a carrier oil), or add them to your bath.

6. Diet and Nutrition

  • Healthy Eating: Eating a balanced diet rich in whole foods can support overall energy flow. Specific foods can also resonate with each chakra. For example, red fruits and vegetables for the root chakra, orange-colored foods for the sacral chakra, and leafy greens for the heart chakra.
  • Hydration: Drinking plenty of water helps maintain energy flow and flush out toxins.

7. Affirmations and Positive Thinking

  • Affirmations: Repeating positive affirmations can help clear mental blockages and align your chakras. For example, "I am grounded and secure" for the root chakra, "I am creative and joyful" for the sacral chakra, and "I am connected to the divine" for the crown chakra.
  • Positive Thinking: Cultivating a positive mindset and practicing gratitude can enhance your overall energy balance.

8. Energy Healing Practices

  • Reiki: A Reiki practitioner can help clear and balance your chakras by channeling healing energy into your body.
  • Qi Gong and Tai Chi: These practices involve gentle movements and breath control to promote the flow of life energy (Qi) and balance the chakras.
  • Certified Spiritual Healer:  Working with a Certified Coach who specializes in this field is highly recommended as they can assist you in all recommended therapies.

By incorporating these practices into your daily routine, you can help ensure that your chakras remain clear, balanced, and aligned, promoting overall well-being and spiritual growth.
